A 47-year-old man from Antequera used rubbing alcohol and then lit a cigarette, setting his body on fire instantaneously. He was then seen walking in the streets of the San Juan district.

On the day of the incident, the man had purchased rubbing alcohol infused with rosemary, a traditional treatment for pain.

Police initially tought he had set himself on fire, but the cause was eventually ruled as accidental. The man suffered burns over 80% of his body and died two weeks later in the hospital.
