Rajmatee Kapadia and her husband Vij Misir went on vacation in Malaysia in 2003. The wife came back alone, claiming her husband had died in a taxi after eating bad oysters.
Using official documents issued by Malaysian authorities, Kapadia managed to convince a Sioux Falls insurance company of her husband’s death and collect $2 millions.
But the story doesn’t stop here. Last year, FBI agents were informed that Misir had showed up at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta to renew his passport. The man was arrested in Guam in November.
The couple now faces federal charges for faking death in order to defraud an insurance company.

This is to say that man likes money more than life… is is obvious that this woma was used to money and cannot remain “poor”.
Also the Parents…how could you gp testify in court that you buried your son nowing that Hindu customs said that you have to “bathe and dress the dead”.. hoew could not know it was fake? No questions that YOU KNEW!!!!!!
I knew this family from the “teen” years and I knew they were not going to live “poor”..the riches was always a priorty….it never stopped to amaze me…. some of the sisters married their own “rakhi” bros to pursue the “rich” dreams…in reality and in the language of Hinduism “Rakhi bro” meaning … “A BROTHER”. But because they were not used to caring for people hearts and only cared foe money it is obvious that “MONEY was the sole reason.

I knew this family personally in FL. WHAT A JOKE!!! They are all about money. They love money. They will do whatever it takes. Even faking his death. 2 brother married a family with 2 sisters. They all knew what was going on. YOU CALL THIS A PANDIT family. They have 2 children together and how they cried. How could you look at your children and lie to them??? What kind of mother are you? Too sad the sisters are mixed up with this rotten family. I am hoping the father also goes to jail for lying that he cremated his son.
Ya I wonder whats going on now with this case, Dudie do you know for sure the father is going to be charged for lying? whats going to happen to Vij’s current girlfriend in Thailand and a new kid, Whats going to happen to Rajmatee’s new husband and a son with new husband? If her husband is alive then her second marraige is legal? what about two million dollars does she have to give it back? and what if she spent all the money, What about Rajmatee’s sister Naleeta ???Lot of questions can some one please answer them?

latchman! i am not related..but all of you are very biased… in my opinon after reading the facts on the link posted, the both should be charged, not just husband..but on other hand, how do you know vij has child and girlfriend…searched all over web and couldnt find..as well as how do you know about his wife’s personal life???? You sound like a snake with a mouth like CNN…i would think you had some part of this!! did you get insuarance money?? i will ask friend in I.A. office to check you out as well…very scary for someone to have such detail about case!!!
Shankar please stop , It is not a secret that you are very sympathetic with Misir family and you are trying to do a damage control and it is understandable and commendable, but please don’t act stupid we are all talking in a open forum and if you want to complain about me or to be investigated for all the doubts , please call Agent in-charge of Vij Misir at FBI and tell them about my comments. and other peoples comments and they will be happy to tell you that they may have talked to us already and continue to talk to us, SHANKAR your first comment was “After reading the article i think only husband and wife are responsible not rest of the family” weather or not thats true is between Fed’s and prosecutor and not for you until the case is over , but you have nerves to come to conclusion by reading just one article is amazingly stupid, You are an alleged Psychology student you should know better to gather all facts instead of reading just one article. And yes when some one commits an alleged crime nothing is private any more that includes Rajmatee’s private life with new husband the dentist and why she left California to move to Huston or why she changed her number four times , Just because you can’t find any information on the web doesn’t mean its not out there, you just have to learn how to get it! and it’s not illegal .
