Gordana Pop Lazic, a deputy for the Serbian Radical Party, hurled a shoe at the parliament’s deputy speaker, Gordana Comic.
Lazic was angry at Comic for having refused a deputy of her party the right to speak during a debate on decentralization.
Lazic missed her target, but was fined 350 euros for having tarnished the image of the parliament, which is much less than the one-year prison sentence Iraki journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi had got for throwing his shoe at George W. Bush.
