Palin, looking very calm, said she could.

“You don’t seem nervous at all about this,” Schmidt recalled.

“No, it’s God’s plan.”

The change was actually made by the Bush administration in 2007, before Obama took office.

“They’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom,” she answered to a third grader asking what a vice president does.

The vice president is not in charge of the U.S. Senate.
