Thomas John Castro, 54, was calmly riding the bus home after robbing a Wachovia branch in St-Petersburg, Florida, when the dye pack contained in the money bag exploded.

Witnesses led the police to arrest him that night at the Landmark Motel, where they also found a bag or crack cocaine.

That’s why they created dye packs in the first place.
